Truth Always Gets Mutilated in a Vacuum

Nothing shocks us any longer, but some things force us to see the actual hideousness of what some describe as business as usual. Three separate incidents underscore my point.

The first is the raid of David Daleiden's home for the purpose of seizing video footage dealing with the Planned Parenthood baby parts scandal. The raid was authorized by Kamala Harris , attorney general of the state of California. Harris is, among other things, "a longtime Planned Parenthood supporter " who is currently "seeking the Democratic Senate nomination. Included on her campaign website is "a petition asking voters to 'take a stand and join Kamala in defending Planned Parenthood.'"

Harris claims inspiration from such civil rights leaders as now deceased Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall , who was a strong advocate of abortion-on-demand. Harris reportedly told journalist Katie Couric: "I have witnessed what I think is essentially a false choice that has been presented, which is that you are either in favor of public safety, or in favor of civil rights and civil liberties. . . . You can be both. And that's how I've approached my work and public service."

Strange how her view on "civil rights and civil liberties" comes totally unraveled when she orders a raid on the home of a journalist who exposed the truth about the nation's leading proponent of abortion-on-demand. Apparently your right as an American citizen to function professionally in the pursuit of your goals ends when one of those goals is spilling the beans on Planned Parenthood!

Daleiden has been characterized by some as a hooligan who belongs behind bars rather than the standup man he really is. For instance, he was called the "poster child of anti-choice sleaze." But he is not backing down, saying , "Planned Parenthood's bought-and-paid-for AG has steadfastly refused to enforce the law against the baby body parts traffickers in our state, or even investigate them - while at the same time doing their bidding to harass and intimidate citizen journalists."

Amen to that!

The second example that underscores my point is the fact that the United States government's Food and Drug Administration recently the rules for the deadly abortion drug RU-486.

Headlines on this story are glowing! One would think the FDA changed the course of women's reproductive history by making it easier for women to abort their children using this pill. But as Congressman Chris Smith makes perfectly clear in his public statement on this matter:

Not only is mifepristone used to kill babies, it is a poison that has harmed and even killed women. Yet even with this record, in the last months of his term, President Obama has bowed to pressure from his abortion cronies and has further expanded the use of the abortion pill, putting the health and lives of even more women and children at risk.

Abortion advocates today are celebrating FDA's expansion of "medication abortion," but women who have suffered the trauma of a mifepristone abortion know that it is not "medication" - this chemical poison is not designed to heal, or cure, or mitigate pain.

Finally, it would be an error not to chime in on another example of hypocrisy, this time on a Catholic university campus. It seems that while some University of Notre Dame students were celebrating the Feast of the Annunciation, others were using their Monday evening on campus to listen to "former Texas state senator Wendy Davis describe the benefits for women of choosing abortion or using contraception." Shameful indeed.

Mutilating the truth is what pro-aborts all across America do on daily basis, but as we know, you cannot change truth. We just have to continue speaking it!
