Parents and other concerned citizens in the Cy-Fair School District of Houston, Texas, launched a website, http://www.SexEdNurSchool.com recently to expose the graphic It's Your Game sex ed curriculum developed by the University of Texas Prevention Research Center (UTPRC). According to Jennifer Fleck, our contact in Houston, Planned Parenthood subsequently rewrote the information on its website that tied the abortion giant to the curriculum and took down the It's Your Game videos from the Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast website in an apparent attempt to hide its involvement in the UTPRC curriculum. As of December 17, Planned Parenthood had eliminated the It's Your Game videos that were previously on the Planned Parenthood website.

Planned Parenthood and/or UTPRC also filed complaints with YouTube, which resulted in the blocking of a clip of one of the more egregious It's Your Game videos. The Houston parents' website still contains a wealth of information, including a plan of action and screenshots of some of the totally inappropriate messages and scenarios that are included in It's Your Game for middle school students.

This is not the first time website scrubbing has occurred in an attempt to cover up the connection between UTPRC and Planned Parenthood. The University of Texas website carried information in early October 2012 that Planned Parenthood was a partner with the University of Texas at Houston Prevention Research Center in its core activity - "the diffusion of effective health promotion programs to health and education agencies, and the provision of training to health agency professionals to develop and evaluate effective health promotion programs locally and nationally."

That partnership is a fact that UTPRC and PP set to work immediately to hide , following STOPP's original article in October exposing the connection. The reference to the partnership with Planned Parenthood was deleted from the UTPRC website. Around the same time, a link from a YouTube video that is contained in the curriculum and was cited in our original report was changed from public to private.

It appears that UTPRC has invested a great deal of taxpayer money in developing this curriculum in partnership with Planned Parenthood and stands to get a lot more if it can successfully implement and evaluate it. It now seems that UTPRC understands that the Planned Parenthood name is a blight on its curriculum and, in order to implement it throughout the school districts it is targeting, it needs to dump the liability of openly partnering with Planned Parenthood.

The program was blocked from Houston's Cy-Fair School District by the quick action of parents at the beginning of the school year. The parents are committed to fighting this curriculum until it is out of all schools - not just Cy-Fair. For more information or to contact them, visit their website .

STOPP is working with parents in many areas of the nation to get Planned Parenthood out of the schools and out of the community. E-mail stopp@all.org for more information.
