Millions of tax dollars for Planned Parenthood public school malevolence

According to a June 5 CBS report, Planned Parenthood has set up offices inside a public high school in a minority neighborhood in Los Angeles that has a notoriously high teen pregnancy rate. Planned Parenthood, of course, claims it is there to lower the teen pregnancy rate.

The school handed out free contraceptives to the Latino children for a decade, funded by the local hospital district. When that funding was lost, a nurse practitioner reportedly "reached out" to Planned Parenthood. Now the nation's largest abortion chain is handing out more free contraceptives and treating the kids for the resultant STDs - and you can bet referring them to their "full-service" facilities for the abortions.

And, taxpayers - not just in California but throughout the U.S. - are footing the bill. According to the CBS report, "The organization bills Family PACT, a public program that provides family planning to low-income and uninsured California residents." A look at the Family PACT website indicates that the program receives matching funds from the federal government. In 2005-2006, program expenditures were estimated to be $450 million. Further, eligibility for adolescents is not based on parental income or insurance coverage, and parental consent is not required.

This is said to be the first program of its kind in the United States. What makes it different from other Planned Parenthood school-based programs is not shared with the inquiring reader of the article.

But wait! Planned Parenthood has already reached these teens, way before their entry into high school, with its "responsible sexuality education" programs. According to its website:

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles has been providing responsible sexuality education in middle schools since 1991 and typically reaches more than 8,000 students a year in more than 15 Los Angeles County schools. Called "First Steps to Responsible Choices," this curriculum is conducted in five sessions and is designed to reach adolescents who are still forming their sexual attitudes. Trained college-age interns present the curriculum to help young teens build self-esteem, assertiveness, and resist pressures to become sexually active. Topics include puberty, reproductive anatomy, pubescent hygiene, sexually transmitted infections, abstinence, and birth control. The middle school program serves Metropolitan Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, and other areas, based on availability.

The thinking person would realize at some point that Planned Parenthood's plan for "preventing" teen pregnancies is not working. Planned Parenthood is obviously the problem, not the solution.

As egregious as all of this is, we should pay special attention to the sentence at the end of the CBS report: "Students are also trained as peer advocates to talk to their classmates about STDs and pregnancy prevention."

Peer advocates or educators are not a new concept for Planned Parenthood. Its peer educator programs indoctrinate youngsters in Planned Parenthood's morally bereft, perverse sexual agenda, require them to attend events like Gay Pride Day for further indoctrination, and then pay them to endanger and corrupt other youngsters.

Just how far is Planned Parenthood willing to go in corrupting children and then using them to promote its agenda? In 2010, International Planned Parenthood vice president of international programs, Veena Siddharth, wrote an article for Global Health magazine, saying that Planned Parenthood is now training children as young as 11 years of age to inject their peers with Depo-Provera, an abortifacient birth control drug known to cause significant, irreversible loss of bone mineral density, greatly increased susceptibility to STDs, and a significantly weakened immune response in those exposed to herpes simplex virus type 2. A new study reported in the April 15 edition of Cancer Research shows a 2.2 fold increased risk of users of Depo-Provera developing invasive breast cancer.

Such a use of peer advocates would be illegal in the United States. However, the fact that International Planned Parenthood Federation was willing to go to such lengths to target indigenous, hard-to-reach children with no regard whatsoever for the health of the children affected, is totally beyond the pale.

Every effort must be made on the local basis in all communities to keep Planned Parenthood out of schools, community organizations, and out of town. Visit our website today to learn about our proven plan for defeating Planned Parenthood.
