50th Anniversary Of The UK Abortion Act – Let The Church Bells Toll - October 2017

ProLife Alliance

Please send this message to your local Church as soon as possible with the link to the video and the request to commemorate the Abortion Anniversary in an appropriate way, including the ringing of the Church Bells 50 times on the morning of Sunday 29th October 2017.

‘Former Minister and MP, Ann Widdecombe, one of the most well-known Conservative politicians of her generation, in a filmed interview prepared three weeks ago by the ProLife Alliance, reflects on the devastating loss of life that has followed the passing of the 1967 Abortion Act.

This great pro-life champion reminds us that over 8,700,000 abortions have been performed in the United Kingdom since that Act was implemented, a loss of pre-born human lives equivalent to the total population of London today.

We are ashamed when we contemplate this horrifying loss of life, and ask that prayers of sadness and reflection be heard in churches across the nation, not least as we reach the end of October, which marks the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Abortion Act.

As well as including prayers of reparation in Church services on Sunday, 29th October, it has also been suggested that church bells be rung on the day - even 50 times where possible.

You are asked to encourage your church to participate in this tragic anniversary with appropriate commemoration.’
