God's Timing is Precise

"When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone." (John 6:15)

Jesus' followers wanted to make him King. Who else would fit that role? But, he resisted. It wasn't the proper time, yet.

So it often is with us. Yes, God does have a position for each and every one of us, within the body of Christ. But, His timing is precise.

We need to constantly seek God's face for direction as to where we are supposed to be, within the body of Christ, and as to what we're supposed to be doing; and not let these decisions rest totally with man alone.

We need to wait for Him to reveal the path He's chosen for us and not allow others to force us into positions that we either aren't ready for, aren't qualified for, or ones that God never really even intended for us to do.

Just as it wasn't the proper time for Christ's position to be filled, even though those around him thought otherwise; so it may be in your life, and mine. Just as Jesus had to wait for God's exact timing, so may we.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
