Demagoguery Leads to Loss of Freedom

'Tis the season to be cunning, evasive, and ignorant. It's election time, 2012.

It is the season for spin and it has gone a bit over the edge yet again. Anyone who listened to the hit parade of pro-abort Catholics making the airwaves recently knows exactly what I am talking about. Gibberish served political style with plenty of codswallop to go around is today's fare.

Look, the facts are simple, apolitical, and rational. They are scientifically sound and unalterably manifest to anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear.

Abortion is not a political issue.

Abortion kills individual human beings, and contraception is both deadly and harmful. So why all the word games?

It's called dodging the evidence. In order to avoid being accused of being anti-reproductive-rights - no matter how many fibs one has to tell in order to do so - politicians will do it. And, as we can see from the examples below, they have plenty of help from the feminist peanut gallery.

Sandra Fluke, the Obama pawn, explained it this way. If politicians defend intrinsic human rights and expose contraception's damaging underbelly, we would live in "an America in which states humiliate women by forcing us to endure invasive ultrasounds we don't want and our doctors say we don't need."

This is like saying, "Oh please don't show me my baby because I might actually realize I am a mother and that would be too much to swallow! And whatever you do, don't advocate abstinence outside of marriage."

Sandra's mentor, the ever disdainful Nancy Pelosi, who is a pro-abort Catholic and a former speaker of the house, spun it a bit differently, telling the folks, "We reject the Republican assault on women's health. It's just plain wrong."

What do you suppose the "assault" is all about? Well it's not about women having an annual eye exam, but rather ensuring that we taxpayers be forced to fund recreational drugs such as birth control pills and surgical abortions for those who accidentally get pregnant and do not want to be!

God forbid that the government would stick to the primary reasons for its existence - defense and protection of the citizens of this nation. I hardly think the founding fathers defined protection in terms of condoms and other such things, but that was before Pelosi and her comrades started rewriting Catholic doctrine and government policy.

Finally we heard from another wayward Catholic, Caroline Kennedy, who said, "As a Catholic woman, I take reproductive health seriously, and today it is under attack."

There's that reference again to a fabricated war on women. This is actually all about feminists and their political heroes waging a war on morality. These misguided buffoons have learned how to manipulate the public into believing that the practice of abortion, the use of contraception, and the availability of sterilization are all part of the American way of life. Therefore, they tell us, taxpayers should be paying for them because otherwise America is trashing women.

Well give me a break!

As a Catholic American woman, I am highly offended. I used to think that this nation "under God" would never adopt policies that strike at the heart of the family and discard respect for the intrinsic rights of the human person in favor of irresponsible sexual behavior.

The current scenario playing out before our eyes reminds me of the decadence of ancient Rome, not the once-respected integrity of the United States of America.

It's time for Americans who cherish Godly freedom to wake up and see what is happening. Pope John Paul II warned, "Freedom negates and destroys itself, and becomes a factor leading to the destruction of others, when it no longer recognizes and respects its essential link with the truth."

The truth never changes, but I am here to tell you that the truth is the enemy of the demagogues. Look out, America, the trash has started piling up and, if we don't proceed with caution, it will smother us.
