On Holy Thursday, Catholics commemorate the Last Supper, remembering Jesus' institution of the Eucharist. American Life League president Judie Brown believes this is the perfect time to emphasize three universal truths about Catholic doctrine when it comes to abortion.

Those truths are simple, according to Brown:

*Catholics in public life cannot be pro-abortion and receive the Eucharist.

*Catholics in public life who have not repented of their support for contraception, abortion, IVF, euthanasia, and assisted suicide should not receive the Eucharist.

*Catholics who do not repent of this are not only ignoring their state of grave sin but are putting their immortal soul in grave danger.

"The Catholic Church teaches that abortion is a terrible and horrific wrong that has no place in Catholicism," stated Brown. She directs attention to the Catholic Code of Canon Law, specifically Canon 915, which reads: "Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion."
