Dear Jerry,

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

In September, the Season of Creation begins and we can start preparing with our Celebration Guide, available on our website

https://seasonofcreation.org

With this year's theme "Living Water", we are reminded that if we receive and accept the water from the Temple - God's healing grace - then 'rivers of living water' will also flow within us. As we are healed and renewed - living water will also flow from us for the healing of others and of creation itself. We are called more than ever to bear witness to our Christian vocation to care for God's creation and restore right relationships with one another and the Earth.

The Guide brings reflections and practical ideas to inspire Christian communities, with concrete proposals for celebrating the Season of Creation this year. It highlights with ecumenical events on spirituality, education, sustainability, and advocacy for the care of water bodies at local and global levels.

The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to pray and respond together to the cry of Creation. The "Celebration" begins September 1 - celebrated by some Christian denominations as the World Day of Prayer for Creation and by some as the Feast of Creation - and ends on October 4, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Here is a video from ecumenical faith leaders from around the world inviting us to celebrate with them.

The Guide has an ecumenical prayer service that can be used to mark the beginning and the end of the Season of Creation, at events that you host during the season, or to incorporate into your community's worship throughout the Season.

The prayer service, as well as the whole content of the guide, was created by ecumenical faith leaders and partners, uniting their voices and efforts for the care of creation.

We invite everyone to start planning your events and celebrations!

Thank you for joining us.

Blessings,
