Dear Jerome,
As we approach Thanksgiving here in the United States, my heart is especially full of gratitude -- for the good life God has given me, for the blessings of my beautiful wife and children, and for each one of you who have joined us in this mission to spread the truth and beauty of Theology of the Body across the world.
This time last year, the St. John Paul II Legacy Foundation was only beginning to take shape. We were prayerfully stepping into the work the Lord was placing before us. As I shared in my early conversation with Christopher West after being named Executive Director, I have been connected to Theology of the Body in one way or another for nearly 30 years. But when I received the call to lead this new Foundation, I knew immediately that God was inviting me into something far greater than anything I had ever imagined.
St. John Paul II's words continue to echo in my heart as I reflect on the journey of this past year:
Duc in altum! (Put out into the deep!) These words ring out for us today, and they invite us to remember the past with gratitude, to live the present with enthusiasm, and to look forward to the future with confidence.
As I look back with gratitude, I also look ahead with hope. Already, because of your generosity and partnership, we are making TOB programs and resources more accessible to more people -- students, parents, priests, seminarians, families, and seekers -- on every continent. And we are only getting started.
Whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving this week or simply entering a new season wherever you are in the world, please know how deeply grateful I am for you. Your prayers, your support, and your belief in this mission are helping to carry St. John Paul II's legacy into the future.
From all of us at the St. John Paul II Legacy Foundation, thank you. May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly in the days ahead.
With gratitude,
Dave Sloan
Executive Director
St. John Paul II Legacy Foundation
