Assisting vulnerable people in Ukraine's conflict zones

Dear Jerome,

The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine is deepening as violence intensifies, yet global attention is fading.

Today, more than 6.9 million Ukrainians have been forced to flee their country, while 3.7 million remain displaced within its borders. In total, over 12.7 million people urgently need humanitarian assistance. In June 2025, civilian casualties reached their highest level in three years. Families are uprooted once again, and the most vulnerable -- children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities -- face unimaginable hardship.

Despite the devastation, Caritas continues to stand with the people of Ukraine, delivering life-saving aid, a community of care, and hope where it's needed most.

Thanks to the contributions of donors like you and thanks to the collective support of the Members of the Caritas Confederation, the two national Caritas, Caritas- Spes Ukraine and Caritas Ukraine, have reached in 2025 over 276,000 people, even in frontline areas, with food, shelter, healthcare, hygiene kits, and cash assistance. Together with delivering emergency aid, they have repaired homes, restored livelihoods, and supported children, veterans, and victims of trafficking, serving more than 4 million people since 2022.

Among this, Caritas is also working on building resilience and bringing psychosocial support to the most vulnerable traumatized by the war.

Caritas message is clear: we will not abandon the people of Ukraine.

But as needs rise and funding declines, we cannot continue all this without you. Your gift today brings hope for families determined to rebuild their lives.

Thank you.
