Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today reacted to the bizarre and patently false claim by Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams regarding the heartbeat of an unborn child.

"Ms. Abrams is quoted as saying 'There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman's body.' (See article below) This is sheer lunacy," Father Pavone said. "But then again, she's a Democrat candidate. So I repeat myself."

"Abortion extremists will go to any length to present the unborn as something other than human, but we know better, and thanks to the work of the Education Resource Fund (www.ERF.Science - see link belwo) which we promote at Priests for Life, everyone can see the baby in the womb.

"As to the sound the delusional Ms. Abrams claims is 'manufactured' as part of a plot to control women, I invite her to look up the embryological evidence from impartial sources, see and listen for herself, and follow the science."
