There Is Weeping On This Fourth Day Of Christmas

Steven W. Mosher

Dear Jerry,

Herod, realizing that he had been tricked by the Wise Men, went into a furious rage. He ordered that all the little boys in Bethlehem younger than two be slaughtered. The Prophet Jeremiah's sad prophesy became reality:

A voice was heard in Ra'mah,
Wailing and loud lamentation,
Rachel weeping for her children;
She refused to be consoled,
Because they were no more.

The slaughter of the innocents continues in our time. Only now, baby boys and girls are being murdered in the millions while they are still in the womb. The killing is being done not out of anger, but because the arrival of these little ones is deemed inconvenient or too expensive, or sometimes simply because they are not the "right" sex.

We, like Rachel, weep over our lost children.

But mourning their loss does not mean that we do not fight to end this assault on the sanctity of life. The holy birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which has transformed the world for the good in so many ways, gives us hope that abortion, too, can be ended.

With Christ we can:

Ban Abortion from the very first Heartbeat in every state in the US.
Cut US funding to Abortion-minded groups in other countries.
Expand the growing international network of Pregnancy Centers in Critical Need, to help women in crisis pregnancies.
With Christ, we can transform this world into one that values people more than money, more than power, more than convenience—a world that Puts People First!
