Offering You Some Election Hope

Steven W. Mosher

Dear Jerry,

I would have preferred to have all the ballots counted on election day, so that we could all get a good night's sleep. But I am sure that we all suspected that the presidential race might go a few days longer.

Many election issues will wind up before the federal courts, and there we have hundreds of new federal judges and three new (relatively speaking) Supreme Court justices. So I have to think that our prospects are good.

Also on the good news front, lots of pro-life, pro-family Senators and Congressmen were elected—or re-elected—this time around. Pro-life champions like Montana Senator Steve Daines and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris won re-election against the odds, while exciting new reps like New Mexico's Yvette Herrell will join their ranks.

The Senate remains in pro-life hands, while the House Pro-Life Caucus will gain several new members. While we reserve our cheers for the big prize, we can take quiet satisfaction in knowing that our ranks have already been bolstered.

Working with our friends, new and old in Congress, our unborn brothers and sisters will not be undefended in the years to come.
