(2020) Rep. Dan Lipinski has represented the Third District of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat since 2005. He serves on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Prior to his election to Congress, he was a professor of political science at the University of Tennessee and at the University of Notre Dame.
As the Democratic Party at the national level moves further into abortion extremism and the exclusion of those who dissent, it is hard to imagine the party embracing a more moderate and inclusive stance. But electoral consequences in the 2022 midterms could prompt this awakening.
