Dear Friends For Life,

Gender selection in China has not changed. Since China has been implementing a strict one child family planning policy and enforcing it ruthlessly, the gender ratio is now 120 boys born for every 100 girls. This has resulted currently in a surplus of 37 million more men than women. The government has given no indication of ceasing this destructive policy.

An example in Chile exposes a lie. On the International Day of the Unborn Child, 37 leaders from the United Nations signed an award, presented to the Nation of Chile, complementing it for having the lowest mortality rate in all of Latin America. This, as well as it’s constitutional and other legal protections and public policies, were also commended for the protection of the pre-born child. This exposed the frequent false charge that because abortion is illegal, more women die. In fact the maternal mortality rate is so low that it flatly exposes as a lie those who claim that legalizing abortion is necessary to reduce maternal mortality.

God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

(FOCUS ON ASIA): "India: Women seek new avenues of justice" - The court will listen to testimonies of women who have faced different forms of domestic violence that includes economic, sexual, psychological and physical abuse.

****************************************

ITEM #1: Sexual Revolution: Built Upon Sand

This is the act that spans the generations. The man gives of himself, something of his inmost being, the very blood that courses in his veins, from his father and mother and their parents before them. The woman receives that gift, taking it into herself, to be united with her own blood, from her father and mother and their parents in turn. It is nonsense to pretend otherwise.

****************************************

ITEM #2: NFP and the Telos of Sex

Married Catholics today often struggle to understand the moral difference between using contraceptives to avoid a pregnancy and using natural family planning (NFP).

****************************************

ITEM #3: Behind mothers who abuse, an absence of marriage

Among the most distressing news stories are those featuring mothers suspected, accused or convicted of killing their children or of standing by while their infants were fatally abused.

****************************************

ITEM #4: 160 Million and Counting

In 1990, the economist Amartya Sen published an essay in The New York Review of Books with a bombshell title: "More Than 100 Million Women Are Missing." ... Twenty years later, the number of "missing" women has risen to more than 160 million, and a journalist named Mara Hvistendahl has given us a much more complete picture of what's happened.

****************************************

ITEM #5: Addressing The Porn Pandemic

Dr Janice Crouse, Senior Fellow of CWA's Beverly LaHaye Institute, participated in a live streaming webcast for PornHarms.com.  Here you will find a variety of expert testimony on the issue of pornography and addiction.

****************************************

ITEM #6: Abortionist admits: babies sometimes born alive and left 'wiggling around in the toilet’

In disturbing testimony during court proceedings against a well-known Florida abortionist, a fellow abortionist reportedly admitted that some aborted children are delivered alive and left "wiggling around in the toilet," where they are allowed to die.

****************************************

ITEM #7 Profile of UK sperm donor who has fathered 16 children

Ask Simon Watson exactly how many children he has and he struggles to come up with a precise figure. He has two sons, aged 15 and 13, from a failed marriage, who live with him, and a six-year-old daughter from a later broken relationship, who lives with her mother. Beyond that, well, it's anyone's guess. He's middle class, privately educated and he'll father a child for you for £50.

****************************************

ITEM #8: 89 infants and young children rescued from Chinese people traffickers

Police have broken-up two large child-trafficking rings in China. 89 infants and young children, some as young as 10 days' old, were rescued. Such child-trafficking is partly the result of China's one-child policy.

****************************************

ITEM #9: World To Watch Assisted Suicide Live On Internet

Comment: This is despicable - and show how morally bankrupt our world is. This man is making money for doing this, which begs the question - is that his real motive for killing himself? And this man, Alki David, is he doing it for this for some sick pleasure? Cheryl, CH

****************************************

ITEM #10: Indian state offers incentives to discourage sex-selection abortion

Jharkhand state in eastern India is offering financial support to parents of female children in a bid to discourage sex-selection abortion. The incentives include free education and investments. There are a number of religious, cultural and socio-economic factors in India contributing to a prejudice against conceiving girls.

****************************************

ITEM #11: Porn Leads to Violence Against Women, Says Morality in Media

"Internet pornography consumers are essentially training their brains to demand violence, because the images available are unimaginably depraved and violent. By not putting a stop to this illegal pornography available on the Internet, our country is creating a culture of violence for today's woman," said Trueman.

****************************************

ITEM #12: Indian pro-life groups oppose vasectomy

Pro-Life campaigners in Kerala, India, have condemned federal government attempts to promote male sterilization in the southern Indian state. While the federal government is aiming to reduce the national total fertility rate, which stands at 2.62 [births per woman], in Kerala it is looking to reduce its rate of 1.7  – India's lowest - even further.
