With Abortion Pills, The Abortion Clinic Has Moved Into the Home

For most of the modern abortion debate, we could focus on a physical location.

There was a clinic. There was a doctor. There were protesters outside and counselors nearby. Legislatures debated how those facilities should be regulated, courts debated what restrictions states could impose, and the pro-life movement organized much of its work around the places where abortions occurred.

Increasingly, abortion doesn't take place in a designated space.

It happens at home.

That transformation is one reason the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops launched a new national initiative last week focused specifically on abortion pills.
