URGENT: Take Action Today

Jasmine O’Connor OBE

Dear Jerry,

Today is Anti-Slavery Day and we’re calling on supporters to take urgent action to unlock the future for victims of slavery in the UK.

Shockingly, it’s estimated that 1 in every 700 people in Britain are in slavery. That’s enough adults or children to fill Wembley Stadium and then some.

Behind this statistic are human beings. Men and women who've been trafficked to the UK and forced to work without payment. Or vulnerable British teenagers groomed and exploited for sex, or threatened by gangs to sell drugs in towns across the country.

Those like Maya*. She grew up in a foster family in a typical British town. Aged just 12, she was groomed into sexual exploitation – trafficked all around the region and exploited, even while on a school trip. Her ordeal went undetected for seven years.

We can be better than this. Slavery isn’t inevitable. That's why we’re working tirelessly to ensure a fairer society for everyone. But we can't do it without you.

Today on Anti-Slavery Day, please take urgent action to help unlock the future for victims of slavery in the UK and around the world.

Together, we are powerful. Together, we can end modern slavery once and for all.

Warm wishes,

Jasmine O’Connor OBE
