Dear Friends,

As a leader in efforts to prevent the exploitation of children, women and families online for the past 24 years, Enough Is Enough, has enjoyed a great relationship with both Republicans and Democrats because Internet safety is a bi-partisan issue. Our motto has always been, "check your differences at the door for the sake of the children."

At a time when our nation desperately needs to come together, it is my desire to challenge leaders--and all of us--to bring unity rather than to deepen the widening divisions in our nation. March is Women's History Month and March 8 is International Women's Day, which historically has consisted of an awareness campaign about the importance of women's rights.

It is my sincere hope that we can use events such as these to focus on the issues that unify us, respectfully agree to disagree when necessary, and pursue civility by treating others with dignity and respect. This is a charge that should apply to us all
--men, women and youth included. Given the political climate, there could not be a more crucial time for American's to stand together in unity, despite our differences.

Last week, following a silent protest by some Democratic congresswomen at President Trumps first joint Congressional session, I wrote a commentary challenging all of us to take the High Road. The commentary, "Dems' Suffragette Protest Falls Flat," published by World Net Daily, can be found here (http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001pKDSsxBN4e5jz1JkJUWI1SjIPkI0tb1RUsG5g03LGiIPDcTkp06XRlq0Cv-7IEPIdshA_h_jR9TKt1JalBbSClZtVI1_1Sku52H2EA29RPwOTUo3Ogd1qSGvg4NY5GDHWE_rmQWOBP5ChYWXY7k8uVRogVrXlwb7FHrXmOmin_fEZ_i8NDglm-a9-1T1cYRju49Uckf4eWymysvDlhjunNMvoicjfcv85HpAb1RuJgg=&c=FFulPIA1wlI5vZi0Z0Q0OvIzlosjZW620qTHoKiP8SiTzxYl5HPWcA==&ch=GdlXps4abfoiIug2cdzNaRq-6C6bBeAISDBO1yE3y6Ht1bzCujuxpw==) and is my own opinion and does not represent the views of Enough Is Enough. In it, I emphasize the need for cultivate a culture of human dignity and respect even in the most turbulent of times in our history.

Just imagine what our world (and even our online world) would look like if we learned to be respectful of one another in spite of our differences--a world where the Golden Rule is evident by our daily actions and words. What a gift we would be leaving for generations to come.

I leave you with this challenge: Reach out to someone whose disagreement with you on social or political issues has caused division and start building a bridge of peace and reconciliation. Remember to listen more than you speak, and make every effort to take the high road. #highroad

Sincerely,
Donna Rice Hughes
